“For 16 years Amy has been my vocal coach. It is the first formal vocal training I have had. She began with specific physical exercises to help with breathing properly, creating the optimal chances for singing. We worked on listening and ear training to ensure we eliminated any pitch issues. Amy had me singing songs that were comfortable to me and I liked. We broke songs down and worked on specific patterns ensuring pitch and intonation were correct. Once we mastered the intonation she moved me to working on phrasing and storytelling. We would break songs down line by line talking about options for delivering each line and how it fits to telling the story of the song. Throughout all of this work we continued to work on improving the physical aspects of singing. Posture, breathing and exercises to enhance both. We continue to work on these to this day. We then moved to live performance and delivering the story in live venue. I would record myself with video and audio during live performances and Amy and I would sit and analyze the performance breaking down each song and Amy would take notes and we’d review for the next lesson.” - Glen Agritelly

“I have been trying to sing for 30+ years, with more than a dozen teachers. Amy is the only one to ever make me feel comfortable enough to go for it and then give me techniques that work in a language I can understand. I improved more in three months with Amy than I did in three decades with other teachers. She even makes warm ups fun- and leaves plenty of time to actually sing and work on songs. Overall outstanding.”

“Amy's approach to Sarah, who was born with Down's Syndrome, is one of patience and nurturing her strengths in music appreciation.

My daughter's confidence in her vocals today show the progress she has made in a short time.

In the process, I believe her speech has Improved slightly, directly related to the curriculum of musical scales and tone improvements Amy promotes to Sarah. I couldn't be more pleased with her progress.” -

“When Amy Seltzer sings, I don’t watch a performer, rather I’m witnessing an artist create art. Amy’s body and voice respond in harmony to the promptings of a creative and unique soul in a beautiful response that I feel both connected to and moved by. Amy’s art helps you feel all the emotions we humans are privileged to enjoy.”

“I am a singer with a powerful voice and she has designed specific warm ups for singers like me to help us belt without harming our vocal chords in the process.”

“I always knew during my years training under Amy as my vocal coach that only with her by my side could I experience fully musical theater and my love of singing.  I walked away from every session knowing I had grown and developed as a vocalist and actor with more confidence as a result of improved techniques and honest (but very loving) critiques.  I appreciated that Amy would break down every song completely and take me through each note to ensure I understood and developed the song to the best of my ability.  Not only did I grow as a performer during each encounter, but I grew as a person; Amy organically became my mentor beyond music because she genuinely cared about me and my path in life. I will forever be grateful to her. “
