BIOGRAPHY
Native Californian, studied dance and vocal styles in Jazz and Pop. Recorded and performed at OCCC, LA Pierce college and CSUN. Came to Texas, UNT and received a Bachelors in Music Theory, voice concentration, dance minor. Masters work and student teaching in dance and creative arts management. Toured China, Taiwan and recorded with UT Jazz singers. Worked with multiple Dallas groups and bands developing Jazz repertoire and original song writing with “Joe & Amy”. Went on to produce shows at the Elm Street Theater featuring original music and choreography with Donette Durham dance company. Receiving city grants to produce multimedia theater, music and dance at the Mac Theater with ensemble ‘Coma Theatre’. Meanwhile, Singing back ups with Dallas/Austin sweetheart Sara Hickman, Davina’s ‘Silver Pennies’, BW Stevenson and more. Joined the ‘The Cheese’ an improvisation rock group with DFW highlight members, filming multiple music videos, performing throughout the metroplex. Then moving into recording Corporate voice overs such as ARCO and Susan G. Koman. Jingles for Chevrolet and SPCA. While maintaining a private vocal teaching studio for the last 25 years. A long term project, being a company dance member of ‘Elledanceworks’ and providing original compositions for both choreography and shows with collaborator, Tom Ottinger. Lasting through a 15 year span. The last 30 years (voice studio), singing jazz (UUFD jazz sextet and band) and rock with the 9 year strong “G R P (Great Recession Pub) Dallas based band. Most often adding original songwriting and compositional skills with all the bands, ensembles, commissioned dance collaborations that Amy has had membership in.
